The 30th Russian International Metal and Metallurgy Industry Exhibition (Metal-Expo) 2024 is the largest and most authoritative exhibition in the metallurgical industry in the Russian region and even in Eastern Europe. The exhibition is organized by the Russian Metals Institute (METAL-EXPO) and supported by the Russian Steel Suppliers Association, and has been successfully held for 29 times.

Exhibition Introduction:

The 30th Russian International Metal and Metallurgy Industry Exhibition (Metal-Expo) 2024 is the largest and most authoritative exhibition in the metallurgical industry in the Russian region and even in Eastern Europe. Organized by the Russian Metal Society of Russia (METAL-EXPO) and supported by the Russian Steel Suppliers Association, the exhibition has been successfully held for 29 times.

In 2023, with an exhibition area of 27,000 square meters, 815 companies from 14 countries and regions around the world exhibited advanced equipment and technologies and a full range of products for the ferrous and non-ferrous metal industries. More than 30,000 end-users from the ferrous and non-ferrous metal products, construction, power and engineering, transportation and logistics, and machinery manufacturing industries visited the exhibition, which was well attended by many domestic and foreign companies. In addition to the exhibition, there were also technical exchanges such as expert conferences, seminars and symposiums, with a total of 40 forums and special events held concurrently. A large delegation from China, with more than 350 companies, took part in the Metallurgical Forum. Most exhibitors, both traditional and new, highly appreciated the professional composition of the audience. CEOs of large steel and metal trading companies personally participated in meetings with partners and consumers. Delegations ranged in size from 50 to 100 people, and more than 4,500 specialists worked in the stands, including 1,000 Chinese participants. Most of the participating companies expressed satisfaction with the exhibition's substantive content, noted its effectiveness in promoting business development and confirmed their intention to participate.

According to the data of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, steel production in the first nine months of 2023 amounted to 57.2 million tons, which is 4.4% more than in the same period last year . Finished rolled products production reached 48.3 million tons, up 3.2% year-on-year . Non-ferrous metallurgy also achieved good results. As a result, the production of high value-added non-ferrous metals soared by 33% in the first nine months of this year compared to the same period last year. This growth was driven by domestic consumption. Demand for steel in the domestic economy grew significantly, by more than 15% year-on-year, or by 4.5 million tons. In addition, the consumption of pipe products increased by about 6%, or 500 thousand tons. The Russian metallurgical industry is currently facing a number of major challenges, such as the creation of new steel grades, increasing the production of high-quality mill products for use in various sectors, and replacing imported equipment and components.
